To conserve this threatened bear species, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Free the Bears came up with a plan; the Sun Bear Conservation Action Plan 2019-2028, to be implemented by countries across Southeast Asia. Evidence has shown its continued presence in Brunei Darussalam’s forests. Borneo Futures Sdn. Bhd. was approached to be the focal point to implement the plan in Brunei Darussalam and so we took it on as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
