Most of our projects incorporate a spatial component for which we use Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. Some of our spatial analysis involves working with various types of satellite-borne imagery and checking land cover change analyses including trajectories of change, creating long-time series land cover change assessments, and creating global maps of species of high concern, such as crops and endangered animals.

Our spatial includes mapping the distribution of Critically Endangered orangutans, mapping the distribution of crops such as oil palm and coconut, reviewing land use and cover change analyses, and mapping Critical Habitats.

Mapping example. How would orangutan distribution be affected under different land use and protection scenarios?
